Vanuatu is a country in Melanesia, part of the broader Oceania region. Its capital is Port Vila, and the country has coastal access rather than being landlocked. At around 12,189 km² in area, Vanuatu uses Bislama as a major language and its currency is the Vanuatu vatu (Vt). Vanuatu has no shared land borders on record, which typically means it's an island nation or a small enclave.
