Republic of the Maldives

Located in Southern Asia, Maldives is one of the countries that make up Asia. Its capital is Malé, and the country has coastal access rather than being landlocked. At around 300 km² in area, Maldives uses Maldivian as a major language and its currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa (.ރ). Maldives has no shared land borders on record, which typically means it's an island nation or a small enclave.
